Complete guide to payment structures, warranty coverage, performance guarantees and shipping insurance for custom-built fine blanking press purchases.
HS-FINEB fine blanking presses are custom-built machines, and the payment structure reflects the milestone-based nature of the manufacturing process. The standard payment terms are: 30% advance by Telegraphic Transfer (T/T) against the signed Proforma Invoice, and 70% balance by T/T before shipment — or by irrevocable Letter of Credit (L/C) at sight for established customers who prefer bank-guaranteed payment. The 30% advance covers raw material procurement (steel plate for the frame, hydraulic cylinders, control system components) and initiates the production schedule.
For first-time buyers, we understand that sending a 30% advance to a manufacturer in another country requires trust. We offer escrow arrangements through internationally recognized escrow services for the initial payment, releasing funds to HS-FINEB only when agreed production milestones are achieved and verified. This option adds 2–3% in escrow fees but provides full buyer protection for the advance payment. We also welcome third-party inspection at any stage of production — SGS, Bureau Veritas (BV) or TUV inspectors can verify build progress before each payment milestone.
For established customers with a track record of repeat orders, we offer flexible payment terms including L/C at sight with 90-day usance, progressive payment tied to production milestones (e.g., 30% advance, 30% after frame completion, 30% after FAT, 10% after installation), and in select cases, deferred payment for the final 10% until installation and commissioning are complete. These terms are negotiated case by case based on order history and customer credit assessment.

Every HS-FINEB fine blanking press carries a standard warranty of 12 months from the date of installation and commissioning, or 18 months from the date of shipment — whichever comes first. This dual-trigger period accounts for shipping and installation timelines: if installation is delayed beyond 6 months from shipment for reasons outside the buyer's control, the 18-month shipping date provides a fallback. The warranty period begins when the press is installed, powered and producing parts, not from the invoice date.
The warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship in the following major systems:
The following items are excluded from warranty coverage because they are consumables, wear items or depend on operating conditions outside the manufacturer's control:
We offer extended warranty coverage beyond the standard 12-month period:
Extended warranty pricing is quoted separately based on press model and operating conditions. The extended warranty must be purchased before or at the time of machine shipment.

Beyond defect coverage, HS-FINEB provides a performance guarantee verified during Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT). This guarantee is not a general promise but a set of measured parameters documented in the FAT report and tied to your technical specification:
If any measured parameter fails to meet specification, HS-FINEB rectifies the deficiency at our cost before shipment. The rectified parameter is re-tested and re-documented. The performance guarantee remains valid for the full warranty period — if any guaranteed parameter degrades below specification under normal operation within the warranty period, we provide remediation at no cost.
All presses are shipped under All Risks marine insurance coverage, protecting against physical loss or damage during transit from factory to destination port. Insurance value covers the full CIF value of the press. The insurance certificate is provided with shipping documents. For land transport to inland destinations, additional transit insurance can be arranged.
The supply contract includes a standard force majeure clause covering events beyond reasonable control: natural disasters, war, civil unrest, government-imposed export/import restrictions, pandemic-related factory closures, and utility failures (power, water) lasting more than 72 hours. In the event of a force majeure occurrence, HS-FINEB notifies the buyer within 7 days, and the delivery schedule is extended by the duration of the delay. Neither party is liable for damages caused by force majeure events.
Every order is governed by a written supply agreement that includes: technical specification (signed by both parties), Proforma Invoice with Incoterms (typically FOB Shanghai or CIF destination port), payment terms and milestone schedule, warranty terms, acceptance criteria and FAT protocol, packing and shipping specifications, and dispute resolution clause (arbitration under ICC rules in a mutually agreed jurisdiction). All documentation is provided in English.
All quotations are issued in USD (US Dollars) unless otherwise requested. For customers in EUR or other currency zones, the exchange rate is locked at the date of Proforma Invoice acceptance and remains valid for 30 days. If the order is confirmed after 30 days, the quotation may be reissued at the prevailing exchange rate. Import duties, VAT/GST and any customs clearance fees in the destination country are the buyer's responsibility — we provide HS code classification (typically 8463.90.00 for metalworking presses) and all export documentation (commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin, bill of lading) to facilitate smooth customs clearance. We can also arrange door-to-door delivery through experienced freight forwarders who specialize in industrial machinery import to major markets worldwide, handling both ocean freight and land transport logistics from the port of discharge to your facility.
