Multi-Station Progressive Fine Blanking Press

The HF-700 exists for a specific production challenge: parts whose geometry is too complex for a single-station die, but whose volume and tolerance requirements demand the edge quality only fine blanking can deliver. A 700-ton triple-action hydraulic press with a 900×900 mm working table, it accommodates progressive dies running up to five stations — blanking, piercing, forming, bending and sizing — all fed from a single coil strip at 50 strokes per minute.

Consider an automotive seat mechanism bracket: 3.5 mm thick 16MnCr5 case-hardening steel, with two pierced holes, a 90° bend, a formed flange, and a sizing station that brings the mounting datum to ±0.05 mm. On conventional equipment this requires three separate operations — blank, form, machine — with handling losses and accumulated tolerance error between each step. On the HF-700, a 5-station progressive die produces the finished bracket in one continuous strip feed, maintaining 100% shear edge on the blanked contour and IT7-8 dimensional accuracy on the pierced holes. The die-roll zone — the work-hardened band at the sheared edge — stays below 15% of material thickness, meeting automotive OEM edge-quality specifications without secondary finishing.

The technical challenge in multi-station progressive fine blanking is force distribution. Each station draws against the V-ring impingement and counter-pressure differently: the blanking station sees maximum shearing force, while the forming station introduces lateral loads that can deflect the ram and degrade edge quality at downstream stations. The HF-700's independently programmable triple-force system — 3500 kN ring gear (V-ring), 1750 kN counter-pressure, 500 kN ejector — allows each station's force profile to be tuned individually through the CNC controller, maintaining die-roll control and burr-free edges at every station rather than compromising the last station to protect the first.
