HF-400 Fine Blanking Machine

Mid-heavy fine blanking press for structural parts in HSLA steel up to 14 mm, where conventional stamping cracks high-strength edges

Thicker Materials, Tighter Tolerances Fine Blanking Press

When your structural part demands thicker material and tighter tolerance than conventional stamping can deliver. The HF-400 handles high-strength low-alloy steels up to 14 mm thick, including S500MC and S700MC grades used in automotive structural brackets and chassis components.

Typical applications: Brake caliper brackets, chassis reinforcement panels, seat-track assemblies, door latch mechanisms, industrial clutch friction plates

Consider a brake caliper bracket blanked from S700MC high-strength steel. Conventional stamping cracks the edge because the material's high yield strength means the shear zone transitions from plastic flow to brittle fracture before the cut completes. The HF-400 prevents this by maintaining compressive stress throughout the shear zone. Its 1000 kN counter-pressure holds the material in compression during blanking, preventing the tensile stress concentration that triggers edge cracking on high-strength steels. The 2000 kN V-ring impingement force further constrains material flow, reducing die-roll to under 10% of material thickness even on 14 mm S700MC plate. The result: crack-free, fully work-hardened shear edges on structural brackets that meet automotive fatigue specifications without secondary machining.

The HF-400's 650 x 650 mm working table and 650 mm die height accommodate multi-station progressive dies for compound part geometries. At 65 strokes per minute with a 350 mm maximum feed width and ±0.1 mm pitch accuracy, the press supports medium-to-high volume production of components such as door-latch mechanisms, seat-track reinforcement panels, and industrial clutch friction plates. The programmable blanking speed range of 5-45 mm/s allows per-material optimization, reducing tool wear on high-strength steel while maintaining edge quality at or near 100% shear zone. For Tier-1 suppliers transitioning from stamped to fine-blanked structural components, the HF-400 bridges the gap between conventional press capacity and the edge quality that safety-critical applications demand.
